Our 30 years of experience in the Wine Trade has allowed us to view the wonderful progression of South African wine from very close quarters.
From the early days of the KWV co-operative, South Africa can now be regarded as a producer of some of the finest, characterful wine in the world. New districts appear and old ones are reinvented, constant tasting allows us to keep up to date! Bouchard Finlayson are one of our favourites, producing fine elegant wines from the Walker Bay. Rustenberg and Meerlust are two prestigious producers from Stellenbosch and Fairview and Spice Route fashion characterful wines from Paarl and Swartland respectively. If one producer were to be championed on our website it would be Holden Manz from Franschhhoek, we firmly believe they will be regarded as world class wines in the fullness of time.
The USA only has a small representation at Morrish & Banham but it is an area that we fully intend to explore much further, particularly the state of Virginia whose Viognier, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc are astonishing good! Until then we list well-chosen Californian wines from Segehesio and Federalist, both producers of outstanding Zinfandel. From De Loach in the cool reaches of the Sonoma Valley are exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and Pine Ridge show a stunning Chenin Blanc/Viognier blend.
